SERMON THIS WEEKEND: Baggage Transfer
HOPE FOR THE FIRST NATIONS: is hosting a Fall Festival fundraiser on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Hope Church's gym. We will be having games/fun for kids, craft/vendors, chili, hot dogs, bake sale, silent auction, live entertainment and more! We are looking for vendors to participate, silent auction items, and volunteers. MENS FRATERNITY STUDIES DATE CHANGE! Our Men's Fraternity Sunday course begins SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, and will run for 6 weeks in the library from 9 to 10:15 am. The evening edition will begin WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7 from 7-8:30 pm, and will meet in the library. Register for these events in the lobby this weekend!
SAVE THE DATE: Sunday, November 4 at 4 pm, we will have a special worship gathering here at Hope. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend. More information on the way!
LADIES BIBLE STUDY: Gals, if you are free on Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm, our Evening Edition study is going through a series of stand-alone messages by great Bible teachers like Beth Moore and Anne Graham Lotz. If you have a free Tuesday evening this month and would like to get in some study and fellowship, join us in the MPR! We'd love to have you. Will run until Thanksgiving, when we take our Christmas break.
EVENING MOPS: Our MOPS evening group will meet again Wednesday, November 7 from 6:30 to 8 pm. Childcare is provided. For more information about evening MOPS, contact Shaunna at shauna.janssen@gmail.com.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH SEMINAR: Life is busy. We feel tired much of the time. We know God wants us to "rest in Him" and "rejoice always" but how is that possible for my life, right now? The good news: there is an answer! It may not be easy, but it's possible and it's good! On Saturday, November 10th from 9 am -12 pm, we'll talk through what the Bible means by rest. We'll learn practical ways to bring rest to your life. This is an important topic, especially for those of you who serve regularly. SPRINGFIELD MENS BIBLE STUDY FELLOWSHIP: There will be three opportunities to find more about mens BSF coming to Springfield. November 10 at 8:45 am at the Route 66 Hotel on S 6th St. If you would like to be a part of BSF launching for men in the Springfield area, please attend one of these presentations or contact Mike at mikepeterson61@gmail.com.
MORNING MOPS next meeting: November 13. It runs from 9 to 11:30 am with MOPPETS provided for the kids. They will meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday. For more information or to get on our MOPS mailing list, contact Mandi at mandimiller13@hotmail.com for the morning group.

DECOR LEADER NEEDED: looking for a team leader for the decor of the lobby areas at Hope. CONTACT NEEDS....COATS AND SIZE 5 DIAPERS. If you have some new or gently used coats that could use a new home, please drop them by Contact. If you have some NEW size 5 diapers....they need them!! We have several kiddos in size 5 diapers in the home right now. The need is great and the coats and diapers are few! Contact is located at 1100 E Adams, hours are 9 am TO 1 pm, M-F.
HATS AND GLOVES...bring new hats and gloves for the Contact Hat & Glove Drive! Collection will begin October 27/28 and continue through November. Last year Contact literally gave out HUNDREDS of hats and gloves. Grab some while they're on sale and share.
CONTACT WORK DAYS WITH AMY:I wanted to let everyone know that my work days in November will be SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd from 10 - 12. My work EVENING will be on a Wednesday....I did not have any free Thursdays - Sorry!! The work night will be Wednesday, November 14th 6-8. Please contact Amy at 494-9471 if you plan to attend.

WELCOME TO KELLY SCHMUCKER: You'll get a chance to meet Kelly and Drew in an upcoming service, but we wanted to mention that Kelly has joined the Hope staff as an intern in small group ministry this fall. She will be with us as she works on her counseling degree at LCU. Kelly comes to us from the U of I, where she completed a degree and went on to work for Intervarsity Ministries at U of I. She was with them for 6 years. We are thrilled to have her ministry expertise and experience helping us in this transitional phase!
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR CHURCH OFFICE: Part-time position (16 hours/week) for general office duties. Position requirements include familiarity with various computer programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Database, and ability to learn Adobe desktop publishing & page layout program. Duties include produce weekly bulletin, database management, , answer incoming calls, assist the Executive Pastor and Exec Ministry Assistant with admin needs & special projects. Candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work assignments. WESTSIDE ROUNDUP: WestSide Christian Singles Annual Fall Dance will be Saturday, November 3 from 6-10 pm at Lake Springfield Christian Assembly. Suggested donation of $3 for the DJ. All single and single-again adults are welcome!
20-SOMETHING? Our LEAP ministry is for those between the ages of 18 and 30. Jeff and Trina Fry and other Leapers will be heading out for dinner after each Saturday night service. If you'd like to join the group, connect with the Frys! Contact Jeff at 823-9079.
