When I was a child I grew up in the Luthern Church. It was fun and my friends were there. I went to communion and confirmation classes. Then when we moved to Illinois, my family never went to church, and I was rebellious to the idea. I was a roaming soul who cursed and sinned. Then when I joined the military, I went to different church services to see what I wanted. I never really decided on a religion. I just went to go.
When I married my wife Stacey, she started going going to HOPE, and bless her heart, tried everything to get me go. It wasn't how I was raised and never thought it was what I wanted. She finally got me to go. After a few services, I started listening to Pastor Blake instead of hearing him. Through his lessons and teaching, I started to realize he made sense. How he was explaining God's Word really started to make me more interested in HOPE. After long thoughts and talks with my wife, we decided to make HOPE our home church. My wife and I feel like this is home. This is a place where people care and want you to know God and follow in a walk with him .
Since Nov 2008, I confessed my sins to God and have started attending all kinds of different Bible Studies, and the thirst for knowledge in his word has intensified.
