We’re glad you’re
here. You matter to us because you matter to God. We invite you to
make yourself at home at Hope, a place where you can be introduced to the love
and grace of God and find the answers to life’s questions.
Relax! REFRESH You can
always ‘come as you are’ at Hope — feel free to dress casually and
comfortably We want you to discover and develop your relationship with God
without formality and without pressure to get involved before you are
ready. It’s O.K. to have serious questions about God and religion, we are
available to help you find the answers at your own pace.
Get Real!
RELEVANT Every Saturday evening and Sunday morning the music,
media, drama, message, and fellowship are designed to address real, everyday
issues we all face in a creative, relevant and practical way. It is our sincere
desire that you leave with a greater understanding of God, an appreciation of
His word, and a renewed vision for your life.
Bring the Kids! FAMILY FRIENDLY We
provide a safe atmosphere each week for your children in our Harvestland
children’s ministries. Harvestland is a place where children ages infants
through fifth grade can have fun while learning about the love of God.
Harvestland programs are every bit as creative, relevant and inspiring as the
adult worship service and are presented by adults who care about your
kids.
“The Edge” youth service, for grades 6 through 12, is a place where
students can connect with others their own age, get to know God in exciting and
relevant ways and have tons of fun in the process. Our programs are scheduled on
a weekly basis and we would love for your students to be a part of the
action.
Why We're
Here At Hope Evangelical Free Church, our mission is to build
fully transformed followers of Jesus Christ. We worship God in a way that is
contemporary and of the highest quality because we believe God is worthy of the
best we can offer.
Do you think a church should be . .
...
a place to experience something more, ... committed to your kids ...
caring and friendly ... authentic, honest and real ... interesting and
relevant ... creative and contemporary ... committed to
excellence?
Our vision is to transform the state of
Illinois by transforming its heart in Springfield. We’re seeking to build caring
relationships with one another that are authentic, loving, and Christ-like.
Times have changed and many of us are separated from the extended families which
once provided so much encouragement and support.
We all need a circle of
friends who can help with daily concerns—like loneliness, stress, physical
illness, security, and significance. We want to serve you and your family in a
way that reflects the love of God fully transformed followers of Jesus. We are
engaging in the journey together, sharing life in a real community.
We
invite you to come and grow with us!

Food for the Journey
Hope is a place for people willing to embark on a spiritual journey, from those just investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life. This is a safe place for everyone. But safe doesn’t mean serenity. The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change. We don’t assume everyone believes, or even knows the Bible, but we do assume everyone who comes through our doors is open to exploring it. We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant truth and it is foundational to everything we do.
