Dear Hope Church Family,
God is in the business of changing lives, and this is what Hope is all about! God has graciously used this church as an instrument to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to draw people into genuine worship, to bring us together into loving community, and to transform our thinking through His Word. Jesus Christ transforms lives--and our longing is to participate in His transformation of lives in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois, and among the nations.
God is preparing us for the harvest. He is cultivating our faith; giving us a greater understanding of His ways; equipping us for ministry; entrusting more people to our care; and raising up spiritual leaders. God is the One doing these things. We simply want to be available and faithful . . . faithful to step out in faith and Imagine. That brings us to a historic moment in the life of our church.
Imagine . . . A Transforming Hope is the theme we have chosen for taking our next step of faith. That step involves trusting God through a relocation and construction of a new facility, to provide a new home and let us more effectively fulfill the calling that God has given us.
In the Imagine . . . A Transforming Hope campaign, we are challenged to a faith-stretching act: Giving sacrificially over and above our current giving during the next 3 years. Each of us is asked to pray, seek God's will, and give as we feel led by God. I truly believe that as a church, we are ready for this challenge. But it is a step of faith that we must make together as a growing family, with a passion for God and compassion for our world.
With joyful gratitude and expectant faith, I ask you to consider your part in the Imagine . . . A Transforming Hope campaign. Ask God for wisdom and faith. your decision is a personal one between you and God. What God does through this will be a blessing to Hope, our community, and our world for future generations. I pray that God will be honored and glorified through us in the days to come.
"Now to Him who is able to do even more than we could ask or Imagine . . ."
