FAQ's

Where Is The New Building?

Our new facility is at the corner of Bunker Hill and Lenhart, across the street from Centennial Park.

Why Are We Doing This?

Our vision is to transform our State by transforming our City. We want to make sure as many as possible are given opportunities to be a part of the community at Hope. We have experienced a significant increase in attendance in the last several years and have simply outgrown our current facility. By relocating and expanding, we can insure  facility limitations will not prevent us from achieving our vision.

How Much Will It Cost?

Construction costs are projected to be around $6.9 million. The 40 acre parcel of land cost $1.2 million. There are other costs as well - e.g., architect fees, fees to acquire needed utilities, etc.

Building Specs

The first phase of our Master Plan includes a 625 seat auditorium, gymnasium, children's ministry area and office area. In total, it consists of approximately 40,000 square feet of space. For comparison, our current facility is approximately 17,000 square feet and the capacity of our auditorium is approximately 275. The new auditorium has permanent, theater style seating.

How many services will there be?

We currently have 3 services.

How is it being paid for?

An anonymous donor has agreed to pay for the land (over a period of 10 years). The remainder of the cost is being paid out of proceeds from our Imagine campaign (which simply consists of generous, sacrificial gifts from many individuals and families in our church), proceeds from the sale of our current property, and a loan obtained from the Bank of Springfield.

Who is RSI and how did we hear about them and what they have done for us?

RSI is a ministry that works with churches that need to relocate, expand, or raise significant funds for other ministry efforts. They are a national firm, based in Dallas, Texas. They have worked with churches all over the country and worked with Willow Creek on their recent $85 million expansion. We considered other firms before selecting RSI. In addition to their outstanding reputation, we have a personal connection with RSI - one of their vice presidents is a long time friend of Blake's father.

When did we move in to our new facility?

They originally told us we would be moving in the Fall of 2005. Construction was ahead of schedule and we moved in at the end of April 2005! Thanks to an awesome effort on the part of many!

Can I still help?

You can pray specifically that God would make clear how you could partner with us. If you believe God is calling you to contribute financially, we are asking that you consider a commitment, above and beyond your normal tithe or giving. There are a variety of ways to do this (e.g., weekly, monthly, periodic or one time gifts, or use of one of the creating giving strategies described in the materials you have been provided). We recognize that financial circumstances can vary greatly for each individual and family, so the campaign has emphasized "not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice."

If I have questions, who can I contact?

You can call or e-mail Steve Seiple or Blake Carter at the church office.

    Food for the Journey

Hope is a place for people willing to embark on a spiritual journey, from those just investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life.  This is a safe place for everyone.  But safe doesn’t mean serenity.  The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change.  We don’t assume everyone believes, or even knows the Bible, but we do assume everyone who comes through our doors is open to exploring it. We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant truth and it is foundational to everything we do.
