HSM: New Visitors

Had a good weekend and you want to end it right?  Had a bad weekend and you want to redeem it?  Either way, we have the place for you on Sunday evenings.

At Super Sunday, we’ve created a large group environment that attracts students just like you.  After all, we figure you want to be wherever your friends are!  We make this time as fun and relevant as we possibly can.
But we go one step further and do two things that we believe are vitally important for you:  we pay attention to what’s going on in your life, and we care about you.  This happens in our cell group environment, where each week you leave the large group and spend time in a more intimate setting, talking, processing, and praying about what’s going on in your life.

It is simple – big group to cell group.  The goal is for you to leave feeling energized to go out there and tackle another week!  Super Sunday takes place almost every Sunday during the year from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
If that is to big of a step for you please take the time on Sunday morning to check into the Serve 1 room down next to the giraffe’s in the Silo. That is where students come, grab some breakfast, connect, and go out and serve in 28 different areas on our campus.  But there you can meet the youth pastoral staff, meet some students, and who knows – even get to shadow a student who is serving. There we will be able to answer any questions and let you know what to expect for that night at Super Sunday.

We hope to see you real soon.

FAQ’S FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS:

Why does the middle school and high school meet on Sunday nights from 6 to 8pm?

There are two of the main reasons why we meet Sunday evening:

  1. We want to make Super Sunday an easy environment for our students to attend. Typically, Sunday evenings are the least “programmed” time of the week for high school and middle school students, which means less conflicts for them!
  2. We believe that serving others is an important part in the growth of our student’s faith. We encourage our students to take part in our SERVE 1 initiative on Sunday mornings. We encourage our students to serve in Harvestland, Big Church, In the Beginning, Worship bands, baking team, preschool ministry, etc.

How does a student get involved in a small group?

The first Sunday that a student visits Super Sunday, they need to connect with Jake, Blake, and Sheridan.  From there we will place you in a group to try.  If you think it is a fit then you will continue to be with that group.  If not then we will have you try another group the next week.  We would also ask that you fill out on online form to connect you to the ministry.

How are groups formed?

We create all groups based on gender, and grade. We want students to have friends in their cell groups. The level of accountability and the depth of a relationship increase when students see friends from their cell groups on a daily basis so we also try to connect students in the same school  Each group may have students that all attend the same high school, or they may have a combination of students from neighboring schools. We do understand that your students may have friends that live close by, but who attend a different high school. We will do the best we can to keep those friends together. If your student visits Super Sunday for the first time with a friend, they will attend their friends Cell group.

Can parents meet or contact their student’s small group leader?

Yes! We encourage our leaders to partner with the parent’s of their students. We want leaders and parents to work together to help their students grow in their relationship with God and navigate through their high school and middle school years.  Please contact Jake to get their contact info or check out the bio page on this website.
