Doug Cormeny
Worship Pastor

Phone: (217) 787-1446 Ext. 209

Doug is originally from Central Illinois, specifically from the Franklin-Jacksonville area, but made his way to Hope via Minnesota.

Doug attended Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Performance in 1995. After college, Doug worked as Music Director for a small church in Eureka, IL, before moving on to Minnesota to travel throughout the country and overseas with CTI Music Ministries. After three years with CTI, Doug worked as the Program Director of a young adult ministry in West Central Minnesota.

Doug met Angie in January of 2001, while playing on their church's worship team together. He vaguely remembers saying something dorky to her the first time he spoke to her that he must have rehearsed in his mind for three days before saying it. Angie responded positively to his dorkiness, and they were married on September 15th of that same year. Doug and Angie made their way to Hope in June of 2003 and adopted their son, Jaedon, in 2005. Angie also participates on the worship team at Hope.

    Food for the Journey

Hope is a place for people willing to embark on a spiritual journey, from those just investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life.  This is a safe place for everyone.  But safe doesn’t mean serenity.  The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change.  We don’t assume everyone believes, or even knows the Bible, but we do assume everyone who comes through our doors is open to exploring it. We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant truth and it is foundational to everything we do.
