Ray Tolley
Technical Support
Phone: (217) 787-1446 Ext. 216
In January of 2003, Ray Tolley joined the staff at Hope Church as a Technical Coordinator. It is his desire to serve God with both his time and his passions.
Besides Ray's passion for computer technology, he brought several years of experience in the communication field with him. He has 10 years of experience working with telephones, one year of which was running his own payphone company. Ray also spent many years installing data and voice cabling systems. It was during this time that he developed a passion for computer networking. Ray has been attending classes at LRS, and studying for his certification in this area.
At Hope's office building, the name "Ray" and the word "help" are often used in combination as computer problems arise. Ray also heads up the Technology Team of volunteers responsible for providing the best computer system for Hope, with the resources available. Recently, Ray has been involved in coordinating the technical needs of Hope's new building.
Shortly after Ray started attending Hope in 1998, his wiring abilities caught the attention of the Tech Team Leader. He was recruited to help run wiring to the new Tech Loft, and the next thing he knew, he was learning how to run the soundboard. Ray's duties at Hope now include coordinating the Tech Team.
Ray married his wife, Susan in November of 1999. It was a technological match made in heaven. Hardware geek meets software geek, and together they enjoy serving others. This Fall they will be traveling to Houston, Texas to attend the wedding of Ray's only daughter, Kim.
Ray has many hobbies. His wife can sometimes be heard stating that he has too many, but more often brags that there's nothing Ray can't do or fix. In all his "spare" time, Ray enjoys refurbishing old computers and building new ones. He also enjoys spending time on his tractor, which has turned into a 23-year-old excavating/snow removal business. Some of his other hobbies include building and flying remote control airplanes, computer gaming, boating, water skiing, and horseback riding. Snow skiing, his newest sporting adventure, came as a result of serving as a Volunteer Staff Member for Student Ministries at Hope. Having fun with, and building relationships with students, is one of Ray's greatest passions.
Ray is a very loyal person, and you can depend on him even in the hard times. Go Raiders!!!

Food for the Journey
Hope is a place for people willing to embark on a spiritual journey, from those just investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life. This is a safe place for everyone. But safe doesn’t mean serenity. The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change. We don’t assume everyone believes, or even knows the Bible, but we do assume everyone who comes through our doors is open to exploring it. We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant truth and it is foundational to everything we do.
The Daily Devotional Food for the Journey.
