In 1963, Bill married Pam, his high-school sweetheart. The have a son and two daughters, who have given them 9 grandchildren in the past 12 years. Bill and Pam have lived at the same address in the Auburn area for 30 years, and Hope has been their church home for the last 7 years.

Although Bill enjoyed serving as an elementary school principal for much of his career in education, his original degrees and teaching were in Industrial Technology. Working with his hands is one of his great loves and has given him some skills that equip him for his position at Hope.

Bill thinks working in school administration was also helpful. Whenever he runs into any of his former secretaries, they remind him of what they used to tell them: "We don't have problems; we have opportunities." Bill is very positive, and he likes to be around positive people. Enjoying life and having a sense of humor are important to him.

Bill's vision for Hope Church ten years from now is of a lively church that is reaching hurting people. His prayer is that Hope will contribute to people's lives in ways that are pleasing to Christ.

    Food for the Journey

Hope is a place for people willing to embark on a spiritual journey, from those just investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life.  This is a safe place for everyone.  But safe doesn’t mean serenity.  The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change.  We don’t assume everyone believes, or even knows the Bible, but we do assume everyone who comes through our doors is open to exploring it. We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant truth and it is foundational to everything we do.
